Presidential Pets

Theodore Roosevelt and Family with Dog Skip (1907)

Many U.S. Presidents have had dogs and other pets, but in recent years, public interest in "First Dogs" and "First Cats" has grown, and Presidential pets have become increasingly well-known to the general public. These beloved animals help to reveal a more human, down to earth side of their famous owners, and they add a little joy and fun into the serious business of the White House.
